| My platform of the education, prevention, and detection of cardiovascular diseases is not one that I selected; my platform chose me. Like many Americans, I have a particularly strong family history of heart related diseases. My family has always been aware of our risks making healthy behavioral habits of the utmost importance in our daily lives. Even as a child, I was very aware of good nutrition and the importance of being physically active because of the wise instruction given to me by my parents. Last November I lost my second grandparent to a heart attack; therefore, motivating me even more in the education of the importance of healthy lifestyle changes. |
